The Freddie Diaries

Freddie was a character that I first started developing in the 80’s. I was always doodling little characters and had several sketchbooks. Sometimes, these characters were based on stories and characters that I created for my brothers. Freddie was dreaming up one night while I talked to my baby brother, Mikey, about his night terrors. I told him I would create him a creature that would take care of all the monsters that lurked under the bed, in the shadows, and within the closet. I drew Freddie, and we put him on his door.

Here is Freddie’s backstory and some of the character development.
This book is missing some of the original sketches, along with the First Freddie.
The first version had a slightly different nose, but they always had socks on their ears, changed colors, and blew bubbles out of their nose.

I included a style swap. I chose Schulz and Ghibli Studios because they were the most influential during this time in my life.
